There’s going to be a new Double Dragon game, in case you haven’t heard. It’s going to coming out on PS4 and PC, and you can check out the trailer on this very page.
Key team members from the original, iconic Double Dragon are back for this throwback. Instead of trying to re-invent the wheel with stunning new graphics and sound, Double Dragon IV is keeping it old-school. This game could have come out decades ago and nobody would have skipped a beat, the catchy songs and crisp pixel art are like a love letter to days gone by.
When the trailer initially launched recently, gamers got excited, and now PS4 owners have a little something extra to be excited for. PC gamers can pick up Double Dragon IV on January 30th, but if you’ve got a PS4 you can grab it a day earlier. You’ve already waited long enough for a new installment, but you won’t have to wait that extra day.
“Key team members involved in the 1987 arcade version including Original Planner, Yoshihisa Kishimoto, Designer Koji Ogata, and Composer Kazunaka Yamane have teamed up to recreate the next chapter in the Double Dragon saga,” revealed Aksys in a press release. This is all very exciting stuff for fans of retro gaming, and people who simply weren’t around to experience this classic for the first time.
What better way to celebrate a 30th anniversary than to get the band back together for one more show? Here’s how the internet has been reacting…
