The SAG-AFTRA strike has been going on for two weeks now. It is the strike, where the voice actors of video games has been striking against some of the biggest companies of the gaming industry. Although this strike has delayed some of the development projects, it has also brought forward the name of the next Call of Duty game.
The upcoming Call of Duty title is Call of Duty: Lethal Combat and has been developed by Sledgehammer games. We have also known that the project is also referred to as Call of Duty: Stronghold, which means that the developers haven’t decided between these two names yet.
However, it seems that Call of Duty: Lethal Combat is the more likelier between the two names.
There has also been suggestions that the game will feature a strong female character. In the past, Sledgehammer have expressed their desire to include strong female characters in the series.
However, it seems unlikely that if the game is set during the Vietnam War, there will be any female lead because the women were banned from serving in the United States military in a combat role until 2013.
Whatever might be the setting or whoever might be in the lead in the next Call of Duty game, it would be interesting to see how the franchise bounces back after its Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare debacle. We hope that Call of Duty is able to restore its lost glory once again.
Call of Duty: Lethal Combat, which is currently rumored to be in development is scheduled for release in November of 2017.
