Blizzard is nerfing Torbjorn in upcoming Overwatch update but only on consoles

A lot of people, especially those playing on consoles, have had an issue with Overwatch‘s turret-building character Torbjorn. A lot of those complaints are legitimate since the character does appear to be unfairly overpowered at times, especially if you have more than one character per team playing as Torbjorn.

The complaints are mostly about the high power of his turrets, making a team almost unbeatable with some expert players that choose the character. Blizzard’s now come up with a solution and has decided to significantly nerf the damage dealt by the turrets, but only on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, though.

In an upcoming patch, we will reduce the damage done by Torbjörn’s turret by 30% on Xbox One and PS4. PC will remain unchanged,” wrote Kaplan, on a reddit thread that had people voicing their concerns about this. “ETA – Mid to late July depending on 1st party certification times.

It seems fair considering most console players aren’t as accurate as PC players who have an upper hand thanks to the mouse-keyboard combination. The nerf will ensure expert Torbjorn players no longer have an unfair advantage, especially when playing defense.

Are you happy with this nerf? Do you think it’s fair that he’s only getting nerfed on consoles while the PC version remains same?
