Somebody might be getting fired over this one.
While Nintendo has announced their upcoming titles for the Nintendo Switch, they were sparse on details, especially when it came to Skyrim. We saw some footage that lead us to believe that it would be the remastered Skyrim, but other than that, it was pretty much up in the air.
To help answer some of those nagging questions about Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch, Best Buy Canada took it upon themselves to spill the beans.
For starters, Best Buy revealed that the version of Skyrim for Switch will, indeed, be the Special Edition. But that’s not the kicker.
The coolest part of this leak is that Skyrim Switch will support modding. Here’s a quote from the listing:
“The Special Edition also brings PC-like mod support to the game, so you can continually refresh your experience with new quests, environments, characters, dialogue, armour, and weapons.”
It’s unclear what level of modding will be supported, but this is really exciting news none the less and it sets a great precedent. In past generations, Nintendo’s consoles would get poor-man’s versions of most cross-platform games, and their systems have been carried entirely by Nintendo’s own iconic franchises.
It’s important to note that this has not been confirmed by Bethesda as of the time of publishing, and it could be a mistake or an oversight on behalf of a Best Buy Canada employee, however as of now the listing remains live on their site. Here are screenshots of the page, in case it’s taken down.
