Assassin’s Creed III New Details On Plot, Weapons, Gameplay Changes, Enemies, Etc

We have some new details on Assassin’s Creed III that have surfaced, which give plenty of new information on the game’s combat, cities, and storyline. The Native American hero, Connor gets involved with the Assassins after his village was attacked and burned to the ground. The elders of the tribe (the Assassins) told him to seek out an ancient and mysterious order that will help him seek revenge. Connor later finds himself embroiled in the American Revolution. The game will take its historical accuracy pretty seriously. Over 80% of the game’s characters will be based on actual people who lived during the American Revolution such as George Washington, Ben Franklin, French general LaFayette, etc.

Assassin’s Creed III’s gameplay will have some major changes. Combat and free-running both have new control schemes, and the climbing system has been updated to ensure that everything that looks climbable, will be. For instance, there will be no more running at the cliffside and wondering why you can’t grab that rock that’s sticking out. Ubisoft has come up with a novel solution to the problem of wondering if the cities will be big enough for free-running. Ubisoft’s recreation of Boston is three times larger than the real city was at the time.

Each city in Assassin’s Creed III should feel much more alive than in previous iterations, thanks to a brand new AI system. Rather than wandering around aimlessly, inhabitants will now go about their daily routines working during the day and heading home at night. If someone needs your help, they’ll come running up to ask you, and familiar NPCs will even acknowledge your presence from time to time with a greeting. Connor will not just be fighting British soldiers because Assassin’s Creed 3 will offer a much wider variety of enemies than in its previous titles. There will be other Native Americans who can move around the wilderness just as swiftly as Connor. Once you are in a fight, the enemies will not just wait around patiently to attack you one at a time. If they are given the opportunity, they will attack with everything they have.

Connor will have access to an expanded arsenal of weapons. He will have the tomahawk, longbow, and a rope dart similar to those from Chinese Martial Arts. Connor will be able to pin enemies from above, allowing for long-rage stealth kills. Assassin’s Creed III will be out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on October 30 in North America and October 31 in Europe and Australia.
