Creators of Star Wars Battlefront and Destroy All Humans, Pandemic Studios was formed in 1998 as an independent studio and remained one until 2007 when EA acquired the company and would own the company until its closure in 2009.

Despite Mercenaries 2 being a rather decent third-person shooter, but when you think of the time period it was released and given the fact that the first-person shooters were more popular than third-persons you can put two and two together.

1. Clover Studio

While Clover Studio gained some recognition as being the guys behind the Viewtiful Joe series, it wouldn’t be until their second-to-last game, Okami that the company would be best known for. Despite Okami being received with critical acclaim, unfortunately, the game did not sell very well, and its parent company, Capcom did not want to risk taking in any more new ideas from the company.

After several key people left the studios to form Platinum Games, Capcom decided to close Clover Studio in March of 2007.
